Dear fellows,
my "install_dependencies.pl" script is running correctly. Now it is working on the nr-pfilt data extracting and formatting stage. But it's looked like, that the overall size of nr-databases will be far more than 600 GB and could occupy all free disk space of 1 TB HDD. There is some unnecessary files, which I can remove with no harm for this process? For example, can I delete the text file "nr" in ~/NR-databases/databases (size - 138 GB), while "install_dependencies" works with "nr_pfilt" data extracting and formatting? Is deletion of nr-related files after ~/blast/bin/formatdb script's copying and formatting them into nr_pfilt-related ones a good solution of that problem?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Corvin.

I'm not 100% sure of anything that you can delete, but if there are any leftover tgz files from the NR download I believe you can delete those.
it is unfortunate that it takes up so much space, but i believe the next generation of fragment picking will take up signifigantly less space.
http://robetta.bakerlab.org/fragmentsubmit.jsp
is where you can ask the bakerlab's server to make fragments for you, if you have disk space issues.
