Why so wried way?
#1

Hi,

I spent few days trying to compile 2.3++ version........ yet no success.
In docs there is no any line on libs and compilers requirements and there is no ./configure step before compiling! So compilation goes in try and error mode......
May be then, developers can provide several binaries with everything compiled in statically?

Coming back to my problem. In last attempt I found that

# scons rosetta++ mode=release -j 4
fails at
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
scons: *** [build/src/release/linux/2.6/32/x86/gcc/rosetta++/rosetta.release] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

This is unclear for me since

[root@violet ~]# qa zlib
zlib-1.2.3-alt4
zlib-devel-1.2.3-alt4
bzlib-1.0.5-alt2

[root@violet ~]# qa gcc
gcc-common-1.4.11-alt1
gcc4.1-4.1.2-alt2
opera-10.10-4742.gcc4.shared.qt3
gcc-fortran-common-1.4.11-alt1
libgcc4.1-4.1.2-alt2
gcc4.1-c++-4.1.2-alt2
gcc-c++-common-1.4.11-alt1

[root@violet ~]# qa scons
scons-0.97-alt2.1

Can someone clarify how to make it compiled?

Thanks in advance

Dmytro
