Winter RosettaCon 2025 Recap: Networking and Scientific Excellence
Winter RosettaCon (WRC) 2025 brought together a dynamic community of 158 in-person attendees and 177 virtual participants. The scientific organizers Anum Glasgow and Sergey Ovchinnikov put together a program featuring 40 talks over two days, delivered by 27 male and 14 female speakers, showcasing cutting-edge research from academia, industry, and external participants. 30 travel awards were granted, enhancing the event’s inclusivity and diversity.
Attendees praised the welcoming atmosphere and strong networking opportunities. One participant noted, “The atmosphere felt great! Kudos to inclusivity.” The career lunch and happy hour were particularly valued, with comments like, “It felt like companies really want to hire people from our community, which is a great feeling during times like these.”
The extensive scientific program kept participants engaged and provided exposure to diverse topics. As one attendee remarked, “There were a lot of exciting and interesting talks. The networking experiences at happy hour and especially with Generate were very welcomed.”
International participants expressed deep appreciation for the travel grant opportunities. One attendee stated, “The experience provided invaluable insights for my research and significantly boosted my confidence in using new tools.”
Organizers are already looking forward to enhancing the conference experience, with plans to optimize networking opportunities further and improve the overall attendee experience.
