Angela Colbert joins Rosetta Commons as Communications Lead

Angela Colbert, Ph.D., joined us on February 23 as our new Communications Lead. She comes to us from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she spent the past five years leading science communication initiatives for major Earth science efforts. In that role, she translated complex climate and satellite data into clear, high-impact stories across web, multimedia, and digital platforms, collaborating closely with scientists, federal partners, and communications teams.

Angela earned her Ph.D. in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the University of Miami and brings more than 12 years of experience in science communication, strategic messaging, and community engagement. Prior to NASA, she served as Vice President of Education at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami, where she oversaw large-scale educational programming, built partnerships across academia and industry, and led initiatives reaching more than 750,000 visitors annually.

Throughout her career, Angela has focused on making complex science clear, accurate, and engaging for diverse audiences. As Communications Lead, she will work across the Rosetta Commons ecosystem to strengthen internal alignment and community engagement, elevate our external visibility, and ensure that our research, software, and community initiatives are communicated with clarity and impact.

Please welcome Angela to the Rosetta Commons community. We’re excited for the work ahead and grateful to have her on board. You can reach her at angela.colbert@omsf.io. She looks forward to connecting with you.
